Discover the passion and dedication behind Savannah's finest dining experience.
The Gilded Ladle wasn't built in a day; it's the culmination of a lifelong dream nurtured by our founder, Ms. Seraphina Dubois. Born and raised in Savannah, Seraphina always had a deep appreciation for Southern hospitality and the rich culinary traditions of the region. She envisioned a place where locals and visitors alike could gather to savor exquisite dishes crafted with the freshest, locally sourced ingredients, all while being enveloped in an atmosphere of elegance and warmth.
Her journey began humbly, selling her homemade pralines and pecan pies at the Forsyth Park farmers market. The overwhelming positive response fueled her ambition, and she started catering small events, gradually building a reputation for her innovative twists on classic Southern recipes. The name "The Gilded Ladle" came to her during a stroll through the historic district, inspired by the intricate ironwork and the warm, golden glow of the street lamps that lined Jones Street.
Finding the perfect location proved to be a challenge, but fate intervened when a charming, albeit dilapidated, building on Jones Street became available. It was a diamond in the rough, brimming with potential but requiring extensive renovations. Seraphina poured her heart and soul (and every penny she had) into restoring the building to its former glory, preserving its historic character while adding modern touches that reflected her vision.
The Gilded Ladle officially opened its doors in 2018, quickly becoming a beloved fixture in Savannah's vibrant culinary scene. From its elegant dining room adorned with local art to its meticulously curated wine list, every detail was carefully considered to create an unforgettable dining experience. Seraphina's commitment to excellence extended beyond the food and ambiance; she assembled a team of talented chefs, servers, and bartenders who shared her passion for hospitality and dedication to providing exceptional service.
Over the years, The Gilded Ladle has received numerous accolades and awards, including recognition from Southern Living and Garden & Gun magazines. But for Seraphina, the greatest reward is seeing the smiles on the faces of her guests and knowing that she has created a place where memories are made and culinary dreams come true.
We are proud to continue Seraphina's legacy, upholding her commitment to quality, innovation, and Southern hospitality. We invite you to join us at The Gilded Ladle and experience the magic for yourself.
